During the operation of IEC flat-flange motors, regular inspections should be conducted based on operating hours and site conditions. Key areas to check include the motor's exterior, terminal box, mounting flange, and fasteners for any signs of looseness, deformation, or abnormalities. The motor surface must be kept clean; in particular, cooling fins and fan cowls should be free of excessive dust or oil accumulation to ensure effective heat dissipation. Inspections should also monitor vibration, noise, and temperature rise during operation; if abnormal sounds, significant increases in vibration, or persistently high temperatures are detected, the motor should be shut down immediately for examination.

Bearings are a critical component for maintenance and should be inspected and lubricated in accordance with the equipment manual and actual operating conditions. When replenishing grease, use a product compatible with the original grease to avoid mixing different types. Do not overfill with grease during lubrication, as this can cause bearing temperatures to rise. Additionally, inspect the motor shaft extension and coupling to ensure smooth rotation without binding or uneven wear.

When performing maintenance on electrical components, first disconnect the power supply and verify that the equipment has stopped running. Regularly check the motor terminals for tightness and inspect cables and insulation for signs of aging or damage; also, measure winding insulation resistance based on usage. Motors operating in humid, dusty, or high-temperature environments require more frequent inspections. Promptly clean the terminal box if dust, moisture, or other contaminants are present to ensure reliable connections and prevent overheating or malfunctions caused by poor contact.

For IEC flat-flange motors installed on equipment, regularly check the flange connections and mounting bolts to ensure the connection between the motor and the driven load remains stable. After servicing or disassembling the motor, re-verify coaxiality and installation precision to prevent excessive vibration or bearing damage caused by installation misalignment. Upon completing maintenance, conduct a no-load or low-load test run to monitor noise, vibration, and temperature rise, ensuring all parameters are normal before resuming standard operation.
